TAIWAN KOM CHALLENGE
Listed as one of the World’s Top 10 Hardest Road Races, the Taiwan KOM Challenge 2021 is a one-day, 105km cycling event that will take you to the Taroko National Park on the east coast of Taiwan. Organised by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and the Taiwan Cycling Federation, this spectacular sportive starts at sea level and winds its way through the Taroko Gorge to Taiwan’s highest passable mountain road – the Wuling Pass, and on to the summit at 3,275 metres.
The Taiwan KOM Challenge has an average gradient of 7%, which ramps up to 17% – 27% over the last 8kms. It’s a challenging but spectacular ride, and we’ve put together a fabulous weeklong package including 7-nights accommodation in 4* hotels with breakfast daily, all airport transfers, 2 training rides with guide, a sightseeing trip in Taipei, transport from Taipei to Hualien, guaranteed entry Taiwan KOM Challenge 2021, and an optional post-race ride to stretch out the legs. As the home of GIANT and MERIDA, Taiwan is the ultimate cycling holiday destination for road cycling fans. Cycling is big here, in fact, there is an official 968km (602 mile) bicycle route, the Taiwan Cycle Route No.1, that will take you around the entire island on cycle paths, quiet country roads, and busier roads with dedicated cycle lanes, and so it is perfect for self-guided trips.
When you are not on your bike, you can head to the top of the iconic TAIPEI 101, previously the world’s tallest building, seek enlightenment at one of 12,000 temples, shop to your hearts content, and indulge in the lively street-food scene of the night markets, and so it really a great all-around cycling holiday destination.

TAWAIN KOM CHALLENGE SPECTATOR PARTNER PACKAGE
If you love the idea of participating in the Taiwan KOM Cycle Challenge, but your travel partner is not so keen, they can take advantage of our KOM Spectator Tour Package. On race day, they will be transported to the top of the pass to watch the race, and they will receive a KOM Shirt, a Race Handbook, lunch with you at the finish line, and an invitation to the farewell dinner party. Non-participants will have the opportunity to join the warm-up rides and training rides with the rest of the group, or they can spend the days at leisure.
